Stripe Payment Processing

RTS now supports Stripe as an integrated payment processor for both retail (in-person sales) and ecommerce (online ticketing and web sales) — giving you a modern, transparent option for accepting card payments across every channel. This overview walks through what to expect on pricing, what hardware you'll need, and how a typical rollout works.

Pricing

Stripe processing through RTS has two components — your processing rates with Stripe (which apply to both retail and ecommerce transactions), and the RTS platform fee.

Please note that Stripe has different rates for in-person terminal sales and online sales.

Stripe Terminal Rates >

Stripe Online Rates >

Stripe Processing

Negotiated directly with Stripe and applies to both retail and ecommerce transactions. Covers interchange, card brand assessments, and Stripe's processing rate. Billed by Stripe based on your agreement with them.

RTS Platform Fee

0.25% (25 basis points) per Stripe transaction, covering the RTS-side payment integration, support, and ongoing development

Hardware

Hardware is only required for retail transactions. Ecommerce sales process online with no physical hardware needed. For retail, Stripe processing in RTS uses the Stripe Reader S700 — a countertop card reader that supports chip, swipe, and contactless payments (including Apple Pay and Google Pay)

One reader per POS station that will accept card payments.

Purchased directly from Stripe through your Stripe Dashboard.

RTS pairs the reader to your network as part of onboarding once it arrives and is connected.

Setting up Your Stripe Account

You'll create your own Stripe account at stripe.com. This keeps you in direct control of your processing relationship, your rates, and your payouts. As part of account setup, Stripe will ask for:

Business and ownership information

A bank account for payouts

Identity verification documents required by Stripe

Rollout: What to Expect

2. Create your stripe account

Sign up at stripe.com and complete business and identity verification.

3. Order Hardware

Purchase one Stripe Reader S700 per station from your Dashboard. Skip if you're only using ecommerce.

5. RTS onboarding

Our team configures your account in RTS and pairs each reader to your network for retail transactions.

6. Go live

Start accepting card payments through Stripe — at the box office, at concessions, and online.

Can I use Stripe for only my online sales?

Yes, you can process credit cards online with a Stripe eCommerce account and can use a different provider for your in-person sales.
